NavCert is now formal Notified Body for UAS

NavCert received formal nomination as Notified Body by the German Federal Aviation Agency (Luftfahrt Bundesamt LBA) to perform UAS assessment required per DR 2019/945

The German Federal Aviation Agency (Luftfahrt Bundesamt – LBA) in Germany has formally appointed NavCert as Notified Body for mandatory UAS certification as per Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/945. The formal notification is based on accreditation by the German accreditation body (Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle – DAkkS, April 29, 2022) as certification body confirming NavCert’s competency.

Why is this information important for UAS and UAS component manufactures?

As per Delegated Regulation 2019/945 manufacturers, are responsible to carry out conformity assessment, issue EU declaration of conformity and affix the CE making to their product. The independent conformity assessment must be performed by a notified body, like NavCert. Only then the product can be traded on the European Economic Area.

NavCert is actively driving the finalization of the harmonized standard EN 4709 within ASD-STAN D5/WG8 and eliminating errors, open issues, etc.
