UAS - Unmanned Aircraft Systems

Validation of UAS & UTM systems because security counts

NavCert is currently also working on customer projects in the UAS area. Our focus thereby is on UAS which are categorized as "specific". We analyze performance characteristics of drones. If the evaluation is successful the customer receives a certificate which confirmes that the UAS meets all requirements prescribed by law.

The operation of drones and in particular the marketing of drones is subject to strict legislative requirements. These are laid down in REGULATION (EU) 2018/1139 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 4 July 2018. This regulation regulates the definition of EU-wide regulations for civil aviation, the establishment of a European Union agency for aviation safety, as well as the amendment of corresponding regulations (EG).

NavCert is accredited for the testing of UAS according to the EU Drone Regulation (EU) 2019/945 and within this framework offers testing and certification for fixed-wing and multicopter UAS in classes C0 to C6 in the open category. You can find more information about our offer in the certification section.

NavCert supports ...

... manufacturers of UAS through a voluntary certification that validates special performance features as unique features of the UAS.

In addition, we prepare the evolving technical specification in legislation to support manufacturers in integrating these new requirements. We also carry out the validation of the correct implementation.

Furthermore, we also support operators with the acquisition of the Light UAS Operator Certificate (LUC), which enables them to carry out standard scenarios without additional individual testing.
