DAkkS accredits NavCert as certification body for drones

Proven NavCert quality and certification seal now also for unmanned aerial systems

We are pleased to announce that NavCert is now accredited as a certification body for drone assessment under Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/945.

On March 29, 2022, NavCert GmbH has been formally accredited as certification body by the German accreditation authority DAkkS (Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle) according to Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/945 amended by Delegated Regulation (EU) 2020/1058. This accreditation confirms NavCert competency to certify Unmanned Aerial System products. This regulation specifies requirements for type approval of drones in the category open. NavCert is accredited for the certification of all classes including all communication links for both fixed wings and multi-copters.

At the time being the underlying harmonized standard is still under development as prEN 4709 series. This increases the risk to manufacturers during type approval in case the final version of the standard may correct errors, which later may result in non identified critical behaviour of the assessed UAS.

To eliminate this risk for our customers, NavCert as the only certification body which actively participates in the corresponding committees of the European standardisation bodies (CEN).

This enables NavCert to correct known errors and provide the best service for certification and GAP analysis of unmanned aircraft systems.
